In 1960, Rome hosted the XVII edition of the Olympic Games of the modern era. This event radically changed the urban setting of the city, starting from the Villaggio Olimpico that, once the games were over, became the neighbourhood of the new middle class, a functional and futuristic area, characterized by a delicate balance between nature and concrete. 50 years later, nature is taking over the landscape and there are only a few scattered signs of the human presence.
